GINA
Long Island, NY —> Tannersville, PA —> Nashville, TN

I feel like I’ve been baking forever, but I believe my dad is the reason I started. He would bake all the time for us as kids and everything was always from scratch. I learned how to make everything from bagels to cream puffs to angel food cake from him.

BRIANNA
Lincoln, CA —> Columbia, SC —> Sacramento, CA

Raised in California with a stop in the South for college, I make food that’s California classic with Southern swag. I’m a sucker for crispy fried eggs, Tapatio, bourbon, and cheddar (not necessarily together). I don’t believe in store-bought pie crusts. I make a mean biscuits and gravy. I believe that everything is better with butter and I carry Maldon sea salt in my purse. I’m on a mission to try every happy hour in Sacramento.

It’s no surprise that I’m into food, given that my mom made dinner from scratch every night and my grandmother was a professional chef. Here I’ll share the best Sacramento has to offer, along with a few recipes. Follow me on Instagram for home-cooked meals and local adventures!

DAWN
Dallas, TX

I have called Dallas my home for many years. This is a perfect city for a foodie. There are always new restaurants and food events going on.

I was born in San Antonio, TX. The Texas hill country will always have a place in my heart. When I was young, I spent every summer at my grandparent’s house in a small town north of Corpus Christi. They owned a restaurant and I spent many hours in that restaurant enjoying the food and the people. On Monday’s, when the restaurant was closed, my grandparent’s and I would drive to all the small towns and try new restaurants and visit some old joints. I learned to not only appreciate food as nourishment but also as a form of conviviality and fellowship.

I love traveling and immersing myself in the food and culture. I have been blessed to travel to Europe and many places stateside. When I am not busy teaching 1st grade, I am whittling away at my restaurant bucket list, updating my blog, Just Eat It Up, writing travel experiences for the Guidrr app or spending time with family and my sweet dog. I am so glad to be a part of Girls on Food. So let’s have fun and eat it up!
