A Taste of Napa at The One and Only Palmilla Resort in San José del Cabo

The One and Only Palmilla resort in San José del Cabo, located in the southernmost tip of Mexico on the Baja Peninsula, is as close to paradise as you can get. This exclusive ocean side resort provides butler service, immaculate and lush resort grounds and ocean views so stunning that during the winter months you can see whales and dolphins from the comfort of your room! It’s so exclusive that it’s not abnormal to find yourself in the company of celebrities and boasts two restaurants by Michelin rated-chef Jean George Vongerichten and a third by Chef Larbi Darouch who apprenticed with the legendary French chef Jean-Louis Palladin beginning at age 13. The only thing that would make this experience even better would be to bring in a three Michelin star-rated chef from Napa for a pop-up dinner.

Hearty, Healthy Red Chicken Chili

“No thanks, I don’t care for chili.” – Sad, unenlightened me

After years of turning my nose up at bowl after bowl of those ubiquitous beef, bean and (heaven help us) green pepper concoctions, this recipe totally flipped the script on chili for me (as did realizing that chili provided an excellent opportunity to eat Fritos for dinner #winning). Many will argue that without beans or beef this isn’t really chili, that it is instead some kind of unholy union between chili and soup, or maybe stew. To them I say, it must be wonderful to have so much free time.

Galentine’s Day French Macarons with Chocolate Ganache Filling

As soon as the holidays are over, the seasonal aisle is letting us all know Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. While I’m not much for Valentine’s Day, I don’t know what I would have done without my best ladies these past couple years! So, I’ll be celebrating them this Galentine’s Day!

I can’t think of a sweeter way to spread a little love to my best gals than French Macarons (or Macaroons).

Island Mama Lactation Bites With The Culinary Junction’s Stainless Steel Bowls

Being a 31-week pregnant lady, I’m hitting that point where I’m realizing:

A) “pregnancy brain” is very real

B) waddling isn’t exclusive to penguins

C) everything is just becoming so much harder.

Not only am I carrying more weight than I am used to, but carrying items of heavier weight has become tougher for me. Even everyday kitchen items like my standard glass mixing bowls are becoming a pain to carry.

When our friends at The Culinary Junction reached out to me to product-test their 6-Piece Stainless Steel Nesting Bowlsthe timing couldn’t be more perfect! I had an inkling to get a head start on prepping my recipes to help boost lactation (for when the time comes), so I knew I’d make great use of these bowls.

Break Out The Control Top Lederhosen: Von Brunch At Von Elrod’s

One of the biggest complaints I hear about the Nashville food scene is the lack of diversity. Let’s face it, there’s no shortage of fried chicken, biscuits and burgers. However, it wasn’t until recently that you could find some solid German food in Music City.

Before he became one of Nashville’s well-known restaurateurs, Austin Ray (A. Ray Hospitality) packed his lederhosen and made the pilgrimage to Munich to attend Oktoberfest. From the raucous bands, oversized pretzels, plentiful sausages, to the delicious German beer, the experience was one Ray would not forget.

A Mexico City Classic: San Ángel Inn

Since 1325, Mexico City has been a marvelous place full of so many surprises. One of the delightful sites are the hacienda like restaurants, right in the middle of this crazy busy metropolis.

One that has been around for a couple centuries is the forever classic San Ángel Inn. Located in the beautiful and traditional neighborhood of San Angel this restaurant not only allows one to believe you’re away from a big city but also delights with its delicious food, perfect service, mesmerizing decor and beautiful music.

Meatless Monday at El Amerikano in Fullerton, CA

Being a non-meat eater I’m a huge fan of “Meatless Monday” becoming a thing. Mainly because I feel its raising awareness about the awesome dishes possible without having a formerly living creature in the recipe (tehehehehe). On a given Monday it’s always super exciting to see all the different recipes and dishes being showcased in the interwebs! Jackfruit tacos, DIY chickpea veggie patties, tofu nuggets – oh my! Little by little the rest of the world is being exposed to the lavish lifestyle non meat eating tastebuds are subjected to.

Usually others will ask “OMG how can you live without meat? It’s so delicious blah blah blah.” The answer is now becoming clearer to them. I’ll be showcasing some of my fave dishes from a local gem of mine you can make your new Meatless Monday go to’s.

Megan’s Colonial Williamsburg Tavern Tour

Now that 2018 has sprung upon us like a vast beacon of hope; I have some time to sit and reflect upon the trip I enjoyed over the holidays. A journey filled with contemplation, history, a Christmas Town and, of course, booze.

On our way to Colonial Williamsburg, we made sure to make a stop off at Gadsby’s Tavern in Old Town Alexandria. Open since 1770 and frequented by such rock stars as Washington, Adams, and Jefferson-it’s a beautiful and genteel experience. Surrounded by candlelight and antique art, you are escorted back in time.

Brunch Like a Boss: Louie Bossi’s in South Florida

Imagine your new year’s resolution was to start the Keto Diet. (And for reference, the Keto diet is high in fat and protein, but restricts carbs to just 20 grams a day.) Now imagine you have an insane craving for pizza a week into your resolution. What’s the logical solution? Louie Bossi’s, of course.

This wonderful answer to my carb-craving prayers opened its Boca Raton location last year. It’s an Italian restaurant filled with everything from traditional style panini sandwiches and pastries to inspired pastas dishes and, of course, pizza.

Brittaney’s Wellness Wednesday Lunch Bowl

New year, new me … right? Kind of. I went on a 3 week cleanse right after Christmas to detox of all the hot chocolates, cookies and mac and cheese I consumed during the holidays! This detox consisted of no alcohol, and no pork or red meat and very minimal dairy products. During this time I fell in love with mushrooms and had a weird obsession with smoked fish! My skin cleared up and I lost some weight! This wellness bowl became my best friend and I made over 10 variations of it. I took several trips to Trader Joe’s as they made my shopping experience so much easier! This one was my favorite.
